_Product launch formula
So you're working on a new product to sell online, maybe an ebook or set of training videos. You don't want to just release the product, you want it to hit the market with a huge splash right out of the gate. This will not happen automatically no matter how good your product is! The advance planning for a successful product launch begins months prior to the release of your product.

You need help with your launch. You cannot create a successful product launch in a vacuum. Here are the key factors in a successful launch.
1. A high quality product with appeal to a market of hungry buyers
2. An outstanding sales page with a high conversion rate
3. An affiliate page with great tools to help affiliates promote your product
4. Connections with a number of super-affiliates who will help you promote on launch day
There are other things that are important as well, but if any one of the above things are missing your launch will likely fizzle and die. And all of the above items are interconnected. Assuming you are able to establish items 1-3 above, your biggest task will lie in finding big affiliates to help you promote your launch.
This may not sound intuitively obvious, but your biggest allies in your product launch will actually be your competitors! Yes--people with products targeted to your niche can be your biggest help.
Enter the main keyword phrase you believe people would search for to find your product. Look at the pages returned and set up a database with the names of sales pages, products, vendor names and contact information. You should begin doing this months ahead of your launch.
People selling similar products will have mailing lists of people interested in products like yours. You need to bring many of these people on board for your launch to promote for you. You can contact them by email but this seldom works. I prefer sending them something by snail mail--either a postcard with product launch details, or a one or two page promotional letter.
If you can't get contact info from the sales pages of product vendors, subscribe to their lists with the opt-in forms on their sales pages. Many auto-responders require users to include a physical mailing address at the bottom of each email that goes out. You can get their mailing addresses this way.
You can also look for contact info on Web 2.0 sites such as Facebook. Look for the product vendors name and check out their profile page. Sometimes you can get contact info this way. Also look in article directories for authors with over 500 articles posted in your niche. They likely have grown sizable mailing lists in the niche from their article marketing activities.
